God for you -- your friendship and partnership. May the Lord continue
to bless you.
For this issue of FIN News, please find a focus on

Dr. Mary Wilder, Professor of History of Missions at Western Seminary, said of the Filipinos, “…100 years ago, the Filipinos were a mission field. Now, they are moving out to take their place in missions, reaching around the world in very creative ways!” What a statement full of celebration and hope!
Since its organization in 1995, FIN has brought together Christians committed to motivating and mobilizing Filipinos globally to partner for worldwide mission. In 2008, FIN partnered with the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization (LCWE) to motivate and mobilize not only Christian Filipinos, but the whole Church, to take the whole Gospel to the whole world. This issue of The FIN News explores the diasporas ministry of the LCWE.
As you celebrate Spring and the Lent Season 2009, pray with FIN that more people -- of every nation -- from the “mission field” will move out and take their place in missions.

The Advent Season is always a time of remembrance and reflection for us – a time to recall the revelation of the Triune God in the person of Jesus Christ, and a time to review the highlights of the last twelve months, to rejoice in God’s work, and to renew our relationships with our ministry partners and friends.
Thank you for being FIN’s partner in 2008. Your prayers and practical support has been invaluable. God has used you to build His Kingdom through the Filipinos both near and far.
For the upcoming months of 2009, please continue to remember FIN’s training initiatives and vision-casting consultations, as well as extended partnerships. For this issue, we have listed some major projects under way.
From FIN to you – Maligayang Pasko at Manigong Bagong Taon! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May your time of remembrance and reflection be blessed, and may The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit be honoured as we call the nations to “listen… [and] pay attention” this Christmas and in the days to come.

Current statistics estimate that 1 in 34 people are living outside the country of their birth. People are no longer stationary (remaining in their hometowns), but are travelling everywhere. Something similar is happening with ideas and information. This presents major opportunities for the advance of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This issue of The FIN News reports two advances for FIN – The massive Jesus Film distribution campaign in the Philippines, and the relocation of FIN International Coordinator, Dr. Sadiri Joy Tira and Lulu Tira to Toronto, Ontario. Please remember all those involved in prayer.
We thank you again for your partnership in FIN’s ministry.

FIN makes it a priority to train Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and collaborates with various partners to train Filipino diaspora Kingdom workers, particularly in regions traditionally closed to the Gospel. Take for example the country of Bahrain that is currently opening up to Christians. Due to the region’s needs for labourers, foreign workers now represent 35% of Bahrain’s residents. In addition, it is 60% in Kuwait and 80% in the United Arab Emirates. Many of them originate from “Christian” areas such as the Philippines. Consequently, Christians now constitute approximately 9% of Bahrain’s population.* In this issue, we feature two of our partners – The Apollos Project and Seamen’s Christian
Friends Society . Please read their updates and remember them in your prayers.
We are also introducing the book Missions in Action in the 21st Century.
